An Introduction to the United Independent Voices: The Third Party Alternative

For one-hundred and fifty-one years, since the year 1869, our political institutions have been dominated by two main political parties — the Democratic and Republican Party. From their very inception their base came not from popular support of the American people, but from 3% of the nation’s voters in 1820 and managed to rise to 13% by 1868 shortly before they significantly split ideologically for the second time. From its earliest days the base of support for the Democratic-Republican Party, prior to the split, were wealthy landowning slave owners, northern industrialists, and rich merchants which did not necessarily change much after the split either. The average American was largely kept out of the political process, their power taken by a faceless electoral college who decides the president, much like the disillusioned non-voter today who feels like neither candidate represents them or that their chosen party actively sabotages their preferred candidates therefore choose not to vote.
The two-party system is an outdated form of primitive democracy developed during the experimental trials of this new style of government. Our government institutions were designed not by God but by slave-owning white wealthy landowners who didn’t want to pay a modest tax increase and who distrusted the illiterate farmers and common folk. From the beginning it was a system designed to limit democracy where it mattered most meanwhile crippling entrepreneurs, small business owners, workers in all industries, and the most vulnerable in society such as the marginalized and elderly. The only way the common people have been given anything beneficial was through bloody strikes by tough as nails union workers who were shot in their homes and in the streets by our own government, dedicated and inspiring political actors who took bold action and gave groundbreaking speeches, mass protests and direct action, and at times when necessary with the use of physical force.

The government doesn’t own us, they exist to serve us, and when they refuse and neglect to fight for our interests they legally give up their right to govern. That was the basis of our government when it was first formed, though the Founding Fathers could never have fathomed the tribulations of an 18th century democracy trying to function in the age of global finance capital and the largest concentration of wealth into the hands of the very few. Then it becomes our Constitutional duty to depose such a government that fails to protect our rights, livelihoods, and foster common prosperity as it is written in the U.S. Declaration of Independence:
“ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
The United Independent Voices movement does not call for open rebellion or a call to arms to wage a people’s war on the U.S. government. Our revolution will be much different than revolutions of the past. We are standing up for the common man and woman who simply want a dignified existence, a safe environment to raise family, the individual to have economic opportunity and basic human rights and freedoms, violence is the last thing we want. When we invoke our Constitutional right and say we want to alter or even abolish the current government we don’t mean through forceful uprising or guillotines. Below I will outline the basic goals and mission of the United Independent Voices movement:
1) We want an end to the two-party dictatorship. In December 2019 a Gallup poll found that 28% of Americans identified as Democrats, 28% identified as Republicans, and 41% as Independents. As Independents who don’t fit into either the Democratic or Republican mold, Independents being the largest share of voters, why must we be coerced to vote for either of these two parties that we don’t agree with? Each year, every election, we are reminded again and again that both parties are out-of-touch with the average American and often don’t work for our interest but the interests of lobbyists, corporate campaign donors, and special interest groups who are totally isolated from the general public. United Independent Voices is committed to breaking the ideological cages that liberal colleges, mainstream media, false historical narratives, and Cold War propaganda that have brainwashed nearly every American with and confined our political imaginations. Our Ideological Study Committee will be committed to dissecting the empirical, scientific, and historical truths of a wide-range of ideologies in order to decipher the beneficial and harmful effects of certain ideological elements and incorporate them into our own novel political ideology. How we decide our policy will be discussed in the next article titled Rational Policy-Making and Ideological Correctness.
2) In order to begin our struggle against the two-party dictatorship we will need to unite under a mass party that is representative of the diversity of our many communities far and wide. This means that not every party member will agree on every issue and there will be fierce but respectful debate in our party assemblies and communication channels. Although our party adheres to an internal democratic voting procedure that includes full member participation, the policy committees ultimately will be ones researching and writing the proposals then presenting them to be voted on by party members. This process will be touched on more in more detail in the next article Rational Policy-Making and Ideological Correctness. Our second goal here is simply to recruit as many community members into our party as possible. Our diverse strengths, skills, knowledge, and experience will enable us to visually understand the vast grievances of the common American and we can use these insights to further understand the deeper roots tearing at the heart of American society. We don’t exclude anyone who may harbor views that are deemed not politically correct, but we strictly do not condone any threats, harassment, intimidation, or other forms of implied or direct violence towards any of our fellow party members or the public for that matter. We exist to build bridges and not play the media’s game of pitting white against black, men versus women, Christianity against Islam, or any of the ruling classes rhetorical tactics to divide our community members against each other. Remember the media profits off furnishing social conflict between groups, don’t feed the beast. We share only four enemies: the political and financial elite, the mainstream media, violent and otherwise malicious persons, and foreign and domestic terrorists.
3) Our party is dedicated to the research, study, and implementation of an alternative currency that will eventually replace the global financial empire headed by the United States Federal Reserve. The longer we maintain this financial system the deeper the crisis will grow and it is brewing worse every year. Constant inflation, market crashes, and industry bubbles ready to burst and destroy lives — we are on the verge of the next Great Recession or dare I say next Great Depression? Prices don’t keep rising because of the minimum wage (slowly) making its way up to where it needs to be to be considered a livable wage (its original intention, quote Franklin Delano Roosevelt), but because of artificial inflation by the Federal Reserve printing out as much money as they see fit all while devaluing the US dollar to alleviate the boom-and-bust economic cycles which they’ve helped manufacture into constant crises for speculators to exploit. From the Great Depression, the 1970’s stagflation, to the recent market meltdown in 2008 which costed us millions of jobs, foreclosed homes, put millions into credit card debt and default on student loans, and much more. It is imperative that we establish a new, modern, form of currency that suits the technological advancements of the new century. Cryptocurrencies are increasingly on the rise and becoming more popular with younger, more tech-savvy, entrepreneurs, market traders, investment firms, and common shoppers. Bitcoin, for example, has a set number of Bitcoins that can exist which sits at 21 million BTC meaning that, unlike fiat currency, the value of what you pay equals the real value of the product or service you requested. This also means there is a finite number of Bitcoins which totally negates the issue of inflation that plagues fiat currency. Not only this but items purchased with cryptocurrencies are anonymously placed on a public ledger that confirms said purchase or service was received. Converting to a cryptocurrency financial system would take away power from big banks, redistribute the way wealth gets distributed according to the value of one’s work and true value of their product, and decentralize financial power from the elites into the hands of the worker and consumer. We will devote political scientists, financial experts, entrepreneurs, and cryptocurrency enthusiasts to develop a comprehensive plan for transitioning from our current mismanaged centrally-controlled system to a decentralized cryptocurrency system.
These are the first three issues we deem most important in not only combating the two-party political establishment but the ones who control the two political parties themselves. It is clear that both parties priorities place corporate and donors interest first, their career and re-election second, and their constituents last until election season comes around then it’s all roses and promises every few years. We are tired of the election cycles full of false hopes and promises, political parties waging war against their own electorate, sabotaging their own political candidates if they aren’t “moderate” enough (AKA not subservient to the extreme rich, the banks, and party elites), sending American troops into endless wars which only have created more terrorists, rogue states, and global instability meanwhile ignoring the healthcare and needs of veterans who served in those oil wars who were left damaged and broken only to be abandoned laying on benches in the streets. The American people are yearning for change, not a return to a status quo, they fell for the false promise of Obama’s “Change” and they fell for Trump the “outsider” (who was never a political outsider to begin with, funding both political parties throughout his life except after 2012 when he stopped funding the Democrats) who promised a different flavor of change. The American political establishment has become a circus of insanely rich people so bored of simply paying off the politicians that they decide to become politicians themselves — looking at you Trump, Bloomberg, Buchanan, Delaney, and you too Representative Dave Trott who made his $119 million fortune in the home foreclosure business…in Michigan.

The United Independent Voices is a movement of the American people to reassert their will against a political and financial class that holds us hostage and gives us only three choices: vote Blue, vote Red, or shut up and deal with it! The United Independent Voices movement is the clarion call for the voiceless to take action, in whatever capacity they can, to unite with other folks who want political diversity and to transform our antiquated limited democracy into an engaging, mass participatory, multi-party, advanced democracy suitable for the 21st century. We want to do away with the electoral college, the political grip of the two-party dictatorship, limit the powers of the federal government and introduce more governing rights to local and state governments, and this is only the beginning of our mission. As we continue to gain members and evolve as a party our demands will grow and so will our resolve. We will lead by our actions, work in local communities and address their problems, and give people the power to have their voices heard for the first time in their lives.
